Web 2.0 in the Classroom

Blogging in the K-12 Classroom

How can you incorporate blogging into your teaching and learning?  How do you think this tool benefits students? Parents? Teachers?

Wikis

Have you used the Wikipedia?  What do you like about it?  What bothers you about it?

RSS Feeds

We’re all going to subscribe to each other’s blog so you get the sense of how you keep up with various blogs. My Bloglines RSS feeds are public, so if you want to see what I subscribe to, check it out here.

Welcome to our Blog!

We’re going to use this blog as our “base camp” for the course.  Log in often and make comments. You’ll also each start your own blog to use in the class and your blogroll will be each of the other blogs created by those in the class.

We’re going to set up an RSS feed and aggregate all of the participants’ blogs there.  Whoa! you are probabaly saying……what’s an rss feed and an aggregator. Don’t worry. You’ll all get there and hopefully be exposed to new tools that you will use over and over again.

You’ll also all start flickr accounts. I just posted some of my vacation pictures on my account. Has anyone ever been to Lake Tahoe?
